I am so proud of my country. We have come so far in 40 years.... A black president in my time!!! God bless us all! Let us usher in a new era of change and wisdom.

Now if only the South would jump into this century with us....

Most of the south is. Besides, there are tons of racist black people, what do we do about them?

Nov. 9, 2008 | 7:10 PM PresidentZen responds:

From the south are we? Just guessing.... I could be wrong. (Just looked at your profile; Florida has never been the South... It's where old northerners go to die.)

You'll get no argument from me that there are a lot of racist black folks, no doubt. As long as I've been alive the only race it's ok to hate on is whitey. The golden rule people... if you hate something, don't do it too.

So to answer what should we do? Hope that this election makes racist realize that they are a dying breed. That the man is holding no one down. That hard work and sacrifice in America is still the way to succeed no matter who you are.

You can't change people, you can only lead by example and hope your good example will inspire them to want to be a better person and change themselves.

I agree with you completely. Martin Luther King always led by example, he broke the laws he saw as unjust. What most people miss is that he was also willing to face the consequences of his actions out of respect for the law as a whole. And it's North Florida, which is pretty much the South.

Honestly, it just bugs me that this is such a big deal, because it shows how far we as a nation still have to go as far as race.
(I didn't mean to sound that cynical in my first post.)

Nov. 12, 2008 | 12:09 AM PresidentZen responds:

Yeah... we have a long way to go all the way around... I think it's such a big deal because racial divide is the oldest sore we have in this country. I try not to look at as how far we have to go, but how far we have come. In 40 years, less than a lifetime, we went from segregation to 'a black man with a brown name in the white house'. It really is something to behold.

In all fairness, the south remark is a bit of a cheap shot. It's unfair to generalize anytime. I just would've liked to had been surprised by the results.
